Vision works inside Claude. You add it once as a custom connector. After that you ask Claude for a product photo in plain words and the image arrives in the chat.
After this guide, you have Vision connected to Claude and one finished product photo. You also know what the run costs.
Before you start
- You have a Vision account with credits. The photo in this guide costs 2 credits.
- You have a Claude account. Anthropic’s help center lists custom connectors on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free accounts get one custom connector. We checked that page on October 7, 2026.
- You use Claude on the web, in Cowork or in Claude Desktop. Those are the apps Anthropic lists for custom connectors.
- You have one product photo ready. A phone photo on a plain background works.
1. Copy the connector URL from Vision
Open Vision, then open the team menu with your team’s name at the top of the page and click Connected apps. The page shows the connector URL:
https://visionapp.lucidmodules.com/mcp
Copy it.
2. Add Vision as a custom connector in Claude
On a Free, Pro or Max plan:
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Click ”+ Add”, then “Add custom connector”.
- Name the connector Vision.
- Paste the connector URL and click Continue.
- Keep the default sign-in settings and click Continue.
- Click Add.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it first:
- The owner opens Organization settings, then Connectors.
- The owner clicks Add, hovers over Custom and picks Web.
- The owner enters the name and the connector URL, then clicks Continue through to Add.
- Each member then opens Customize, then Connectors, finds Vision and clicks Connect.
Vision is a custom connector today. We plan a listing in Claude’s connector directory. Once it is live, this step becomes a search for Vision in the directory and the rest of the guide stays the same.
3. Sign in and pick your team
Claude sends you to Vision to sign in. Choose the team the connection works for and the permissions it gets. Claude sees only the tools those permissions cover, and it works inside that one team.
4. Turn the connector on in a chat
Start a new chat. Click the ”+” button at the lower left of the message box, open Connectors and switch Vision on.
Ask Claude a question that spends nothing first:
What is my Vision credit balance?
A number in the reply means the connection works.
5. Create your first product photo
Tell Claude which product to shoot and where it goes. This run uses a product already saved in Vision, a pink porcelain mug with one photo on white.
Shoot my Pink porcelain mug product on a wooden breakfast table next to a window. Soft morning light, a croissant on a small plate behind it, out of focus.
Claude sets up an edit project with the mug, starts the generation and follows it until it finishes. The image then appears in the chat.
For a product that is not in Vision yet, ask Claude to create it. Claude gives you an upload step for the photo and then carries on with the shoot.
This run cost 2 credits for one 2K image. Ask Claude for the balance again and the number is 2 lower.
6. Review, then keep or redo
Read the image before you move on. Check the product’s shape, its color and anything the scene added. Then tell Claude what to do with it:
- approve it or reject it
- upscale it
- download it, or export every approved image in the project as a ZIP
- run the scene again with a changed prompt
Upscaling and retries spend credits like a first run does.
What Claude can do with Vision
Pick the project type by what you sell:
- Edit places a product such as furniture, cosmetics or homeware into a scene.
- Apparel dresses an actor in your garments and shoots each pose you pick. These tools appear only when your team has the Apparel module. Run an apparel photoshoot in Vision explains the cast and the wardrobe.
- Generate makes an image from the prompt alone, which suits empty rooms and backdrops.
- Person swap puts an actor into photos you already have.
Claude also creates products, actors and environments, uploads their photos and reads your credit balance.
If something does not work
Claude says it has no Vision tools. Check the ”+” menu in the chat and confirm Vision is on.
Claude lists projects but cannot generate. The connection lacks a permission the tool needs. Connect again and grant it.
Claude reports no credits. Top up your credits in Vision and repeat the request.
